Scrooge Strikes Again

A Christmas Carol was an amazing performance that was done in a thrust stage: this was a new style for the Mar Hall that isn’t common in theatre and is a very tricky space to perform in, but the senior school pupils managed to pull through and make an amazing piece. Gregor Short, the star of the show had to memorise many lines.

On the night pulled it out the bag and left the audience in awe and amazement. Backstage was a buzz of costume changes and different makeup looks. Whilst some nights there were missed lines, the actors improvised seamlessly, and the audience was none the wiser. The set design was interesting but

was amazingly effective for this performance.

The makeup required was different than most stage makeup requests but was managed by the Makeup team led by Sarah Hassuona. The costume team, led by Dr Turnbull, tirelessly produce amazing high-quality costumes that transformed the performers into their characters.

The audience were taken aback at how professional and high quality this production was. Liam Boucher and his light and sound team made an amazing collection of different scenes that fit what was happening on stage to the letter.
